IT'S HOT IN HERE!!!!!

OK, my issue of the day:

On Friday morning on my way to work, I stopped to see my faithful P-man. Recharged my AC and it blew ice cold.....until yesterday. No more cold.
I have known that there was a compressor leak but now it won't hold a charge. Is this still rebuildable or should I look into a new unit? Also, is this a home project or should it get sent out, if so, any suggestions on who to use? It's getting hot.....
