How many AMPS on this Fuse?
I just returned from ACE and found these tucked away in the corner.
According to the hand written plastic box these are supposed to be 5AMP fuses but I have never seen this color before. There is no indication as to the amperage only an embossed label "MTA" it is PLUM in color or Dark Purple. Has anyone ever seen this colored fuse before and if so can you confirm the amperage? Is there a tail tell sign of amperage by the gauge of metal?   TIA, Jim

On the standard ceramic bullet fuses the 5 amp ones are yellow. Yes the wire gauge and thickness is how the amperage rating is determined.

This is a Italian Manufacturer that, as far as I can see do not make them anymore. I contacted them but hoping some one came across these weird colored fuses. J

5A fuses to DIN std 72581 are yellow, but the BNA-709 std ones are violet.
MTA's website has some catalogs (pdfs) and one shows your fuse.
