Billet Aluminium Shift Knob

Found this on flea-bay. It’s a direct replacement for the plastic factory shift knob. Nice feature is that it mounts using setscrews rather than a crush washer. Great deal at $65. I mounted it on my WEVO short shifter. The fellow who sells this item also has them for the 901 shift pattern. No website, but you can reach the fellow here:

I've just put one of these on my Carrera and I am very pleased with it. The only thing is that when it is cold outside the metal holds and transmits the cold to your hand more than the plastic shifter knob. It does warm up quite well with the heat in the cab however.

I could not agree more with you about a billet shift knob. Cornpanzer posted a few years ago about a shop somewhere in Arizona doing them and I ordered several. My design is slightly different with the knob being anodized and the shift pattern etched in. But both attach with set screws and feel absolutely wonderful in the hand.

Nice Knob! :P

Word to the wise... loctight those set screws! As a mechanical engineer I learned a saying... "Set Screws Suck!" They always come loose at the most inopportune moments like when you are grabbing 2nd gear in an autocross and the gear knob comes off in your hand. LOL

Rennshift has them for sale, and they do look nice. Not sure if they will fit the stock shifter.

they look super cool, but isn't "reverse" improperly marked?

yeah, I'm probably anal about it. But sometimes, those little things matter to me.

That is a 915 tranny shift pattern.

It's a direct fit for the stock shifter. I had to add a shim to fit the WEVO shifter.

Sorry Rob, that was several years ago and I don't have the URL or email address anymore. I do remember that it was primarily a Harley shop.
