				Question on fuse box
			 
			
			On my 1989 930, I have this fuse box installed near the engine. There are 3 fuses but all 3 are only connected to one wire each. Is there a reason for this? I suppose it's intended for some options that I don't have or another type of engine ??? 
		
	
		
	
			
				You can also see that the 2 holes on each side of the fuse holder are black. Why? Where is this coming from? Is something getting warm here? Is this normal?

			First off yes, there is a reason for the fuse box and the three wires attached, though I'm not familiar with the 89 models so I cannot address what exactly each fuse is for (someone will certainly fill you in soon.)   
		
	
		
	
			
			
		
		
		
		
		
			As far as the black around the grommets, look a little closer to see if it is from heat or from carbon/dirt blowing through the engine compartment. Look closely at the insulation around the ends of the wires as well as the ends themselves where they attach to the fuse terminals--is the insulation black and brittle, are the terminals and wire ends clean and shiny? From the photo, the wires actually look in pretty good condition where they are connected so I'd suspect the black is from accumulated grime but a closer inspection wouldn't hurt. BTW, most of the panels I've seen were painted black so I never noticed any discoloration around the grommets.

			You can also find wiring schematics in the Pelican tech info center or do a search. They have been posted many times. Your owner's manual, if you have it, will list the relays and fuses as well. I believe the black "soot" is just the rubber grommets degrading with time. I doubt it is anything worrysome like a wiring short.

			Ok thanks. As mine is a cab, I don't have a rear window defogger which explains why one fuse is connected to only one wire but the 2 others? They are for the heater fan and the relay for the heater fan and I have those (and they work). 			While I don't have a wiring diagram for your car, the fuse panels use jumpers in the back to interconnect terminals.  Just because you don't see the connection in the front doen't mean there isn't one.

			I just modified one to use up front as it is the same mount spacing. The side without the spring fuse holder is bussed behind the plastic. I cut them between the fuses for three different circuits. 
		
	
		
	
			
			
				
					I can't see your pic right now but one power feed should go to a rear screw and place power across all three and the fused direction (towards the front) should have the wires out to the AC, rear window defogger and the third I forget right now. Terry Oh yea I just saw above third is the heater blower.
