It seems I have a stripped one....

Are the threads stripped, or the head? If its the head then you can drill is out with a 8mm bit. It drills pretty easy. The stud will usually only be finger tight once you drill the head off.

Oh thanks...

Got it out with hitting a hex key in far enough to get some bite...

Cheers!

"Can SCHNORR Safety Washers be used several times? When a bolt secured with SCHNORR Safety Washers is being unscrewed and tightened again, the summary affect does not diminish as it is evident in picture 13. The initial torque decreases only slightly, i.e. the orginally applied momentum produces a slightly higher initial force. Ergo SCHNORR serrated Safety Washers can be used two or even more times without any restrictions!"
Unfortunately the link to the manufacturer's website is broken and I haven't looked around to find the article again.

You have a few options. One is vice grips on the outside of the head which usually works. Two is to grind the head off - a hassle - then try vice grips on the threaded section. Finally, drill and run a tap through it, avoid if you can.

Spray it with a good penetrant and let it soak for a day or two before you do anything.
