Quite often the stalk/switch is the problem. Search for "turn signal switch" you'll find lot's of information there.

There is a tab that catches as the wheel turns back right. If it just started doing it all of a sudden then something has gone wrong on the stalk. Might be repairable. Read up as kodioneill suggests. Plenty of threads on the subject.
If the car is new to you, chances are someone took the steering wheel off and didn't align things correctly when they put it back on. I managed to do that when I first replaced my factory steering wheel with a Momo. Easy fix. |

Turn signal
Thanks guys for the advice...
I owned the car with this defect for 15 years...but lately I have improved on many aspects of the car and this is the last item on the list. Turning right works perfectly and the steering wheel was changed to a MOMO prior to my purchasing the car. Most likely will buy buy the steering wheel cancel ring... |

You have gravity working for you when making right hand turns, suggests a sticky turn signal mechanism mechanism. Take the covers off and watch what happens. I cleaned mine with electrical cleaner then carefully lubed all the pivot points with light weight oil and its been great ever since. (Avoid lubricant on electrical contacts, this caused smoke and bad things)
