Yes, the latch is towards the back, AAA can come out and do this for you. If you don't have one see if anyone you know has the service and have them meet you with their card and AAA will take care of it , been there done that.

Did that once, took me an hour to get my family out.....

+100 on the AAA, last week my asshat dog locked my truck's electric doors when I was filling up. AAA was there in fifteen minutes and opened up five later.

AAA. He had to use an air bladder at the top of the window frame, inflate it to make space to fit in a wire to hook the keys out of the ignition. That was after he tried slim-jim, lock pick, and hooking the door handle (I had a broken door trigger drivers side). Took about an hour in total.

How did you do that? The driver's door should only lock with the key from the outside.

No. If you push button down on inside and hold outer trigger in, then close door, it will lock. BTW, the trick is to use the blunt end of the slim-jim at about a 45 degree angle directly over and behind the lock and push the rod down. The button will move when you are in the right place. Don't use the hook end. I now have a copy of the key.

Just in case anyone wants to steal one of my cars, everyone has a spare key snaptied under it someplace I can get to with a knife. Always, and in the past has been very good for me.

Joe Bob -

You and I must have similar luck - I locked my keys in the convertible, with the top down, and it was starting to rain - I was so worried that AAA wouldn't get there before it started to really rain hard!

Maybe yours is broke. Most every German car I have seen will not allow you to push the button down if the door is open (driver side only).

I keep an actual spare metal key in my wallet. Just tape it to an old plastic credit card or something and put it in your wallet.
You will never have that problem again.

You could've busted out a window. That way, you might have some luck getting the top back up so you can wait out the rain before AAA got there.

Wouldn't it make more sense to park you car in the garage if your going to lock your keys in it. That way you won't get the interior wet at all.
