Original owner of my car...

Maybe the wrong "forum", but I discovered that the original owner of my car is (obviously?) Barry Goren, PCA member, Michigan I believe. Someone out there must know of the gentleman. Well kept, lots of records, no rust (despite tons of salty winter roads out there I'm sure), and God knows what else I have yet to discover. I continue to find "upgrades" that have been done to this '86 Targa; turbo valve covers, short shifter, lots of options (factory), etc.
Maybe I have the car of some of you's guy's friend? Barry, you there?

How did you find out?

I have been wanting to fill in the history of my car for before the PO (who died).

TIA

Found a card, "PorscheAudi", a customer "Gold Card" tucked away in the paperwork; dated correctly (in 1986) for original purchase, with his name stamped on it. Looks like a credit card, is a service card. Rearview mirror sports a stamp "Preferred Customer"...
Deleting the rest; peace is at hand......

Sorry to see that from a member, totally inappropriate. Next time just click that red triangle and report his Butt

Anyways, back to topic: Yeah if his a longtime PCA, then you can rest assured he would not if helped drive her on salted roads, you lucky. My POS was simply a moron, an offense to morons.

No problems.
I am amazed at how clean this car has proven to be. No signs of wrecks, no dirt piled up anywhere, no rust; the man obviously took great care of it. STILL has less than 70K, and I've owned it for almost 5 years; put over 15K on it myself by now, too. I do wonder about the guy, maybe will never know.....just thought maybe someone was buddies with him or something; hope he's OK.

Yep - we have something in common - took me a while and many $$ to get mine figured out from my PO and former Pelican member. I even asked him about posts he made on this forum to see he had fixed the issue before the purchase and he totally lied.

Sorry for the rant and hijack.

That's neat. (referring to OP) I cobbled together a history from scant records, carfax and the last PO who treated her right. Title changed a bunch of times, but I think it may have been administrative moves judging from the short durations of "ownership" - possibly in some sort of dealership limbo?

Anyway, the original manual was still there with the persons name - and with some investigation (not stalking), I found their occupation and possible location. I really don't know if they'd care to hear from me tho'.

Hey, sounds like a legit gripe, tomphot...no problem. Wish you had not had the problems. I only had to deal with fixes resulting from "age" (not me, the car, lol) and not too many, really. Love the car.
