rennspeed shifter woes

just got the new shifter in today and.....yeah.....after I pulled the old one out.....the new one is missing parts
Don't you just hate that! AND only email to contact JWEST (at least they say that on there voice mail). So now-put back the old parts, contact the shop tomorrow, explain what is missing, dance around telling them that I didn't loose them or misplace them, wait for a slow boat from china to deliver the 4 missing screws or I can chance it and head down to the hardware store and try to find something (might void the warranty or they might be special screws). ANYWAY....it's only 500 bucks, what could you expect!
there is a cool scale that manufactures use to weigh the parts and hardware to make sure that all are in the bag PRIOR to shipping. Or at least, put a parts list so the customer, remember them, can see that all the parts were shipped.

OK I'm done, back to putting my car back together.

BTW the shifter LOOKS really cool, just hope I can use it prior to winter!!

Thats right you're perfect...

I have had a few transactions with JWest, bought two Rennshift shifters..

He sent upgraded centering springs on his own.. Very easy to deal with..

I got a call, but no intelligible voicemail. Not sure if that was a cell phone problem on your side or a phone line issue on my side.

No e-mail from you yet.

The screws are packed and labeled and will go out in the morning.

P.S. do I get a invoice or bill of sale for the shifter from you or through Pelican?

Pelican sold you the shifter, so they do the invoicing. No need to call, the parts are already out for pickup. I know what you are missing because there is only one set of four screws, and I found that my finished bags and the bags that were not complete got stuck in the same drawer.

Check it out, it corrects most of the shifter SLOP (fore-aft, side-side) and gives a more positive feel when shifting gears. totaly adjustible, and comes in several lenghs and colors. if you like shifting, youll love it. NOTE: all of the other componets must be in good working order or you wont reap the benifets of this insturment.
Thanks James!

shifter

I would imagine that just using this shifter is not going to help if the shifter bushings are shot? It would need to be worked from both ends.

Correct, but not really. The Rennshifter replaces the entire forward stock pieces, the rear shifter coupler should be replaced with a new one (aftermarket or stock). And thats it.

Since this is an old thread and a little confusing, I just want to throw this in. Several years ago I installed a Rennshift in my '71 which is built out as a '73 Carrera RS 2.7. The Rennshift is a very high quality unit. After many track days and some road miles with it, in my opinion it is every bit as good as the Wevo shifter, but is a complete unit, doesn't require using a 915 housing like the Wevo. I bought it directly from the manufacturer and my customer service experience was excellent.
