Targa -> Cab conversion - details?

Ok, I've located a factory top. Does anyone have intimate details of the conversion, or where to get them? I'm going to go look at the top this weekend. I'd like to have some idea of what I'm getting myself into beforehand!

Hmm...can't you just cut all that crap off with a chainsaw? Maybe a hacksaw or something.
Just kidding. Goodluck.

TAKE FRIGGING PICTURES.
And if you live in los angeles area, I'll be glad to lend a hand (for whatever that is worth) when you do the project. Let me know.

If this project goes forward, I'd document it like some of my previous projects: http://www.vintagebus.com/howto

This was actually a factory approved conversion in the early 80's.

The factory put out an instruction booklet for the procedure. I've seen copies on e-Bay occasionally.

I believe there is even a part number for the booklet. I think it was discussed on this forum in the past, maybe try a search.
