Unhappy O.K....this doesn't feel good

Tonite I took a left hander from a stop, kinda getting on it. When I got to about 35 mph I had a bump, bump, bump feeling like a slow flat. 1/2 mile later @ home checked the pressure, all good. I looked @ the weights and all were there except 2 on one side. Since the PO had put a set of 02's on the back, I'm thinking the sticky leftovers are from the previous balance. There were no sticky leftovers on left rear. Plan of action...yank wheel take it for a balance. If that ain't it, what is????

Question

Could it be the dreaded sound of a failing CV joint?

Like Freefly said, could be a CV joint.

Make sure all your CV joint bolts are tight. They are notorious for backing out.

Would it be wise to apply Loctite to the CV bolts before installing to avoid having them back out?

I agree. Upon a normal start I sheared all six bolts! The only thing I could think of was that they had backed out a little, causing some slop in the connection to the transaxle. Either that or my 3.0 is really, really putting out alot more torque than the factory lets on. Yea I wish.

Look over ALL your tires tread.. I have had more than my share of bolts go INTO the tire and the tire not leak air.

I got one the WEEK after I bought my tires.

Then again (*sigh*) maybe I'm just lucky...

My tires were very old when it came time to do the top end job. After removing and examining them, I saw clearly the source of my shaking problems....a separated ply. Inspect your tires very carefully.

Unhappy

VERDICT:...sidewall failure
Now its a high speed shimmy to get 2 new rears for auto-x this weekend. Thanks for the insight...when in doubt, consult the rocket scientists on this board!
