Go fast day
One day a week should be known as go fast day.
A day where in every country in the world everyone can drive as fast as they like. I think Friday would be a good day for me to drive like a lunatic, or maybe Sunday? This fabulous idea has been forwarded by the SCWDP south pacific region. |

I like it -- even San Diego could do with a little excitement.
I'll never forget the cab ride I took from the Frankfurt airport to a hotel -- maybe a 10 kilometer run -- a couple of years ago. His Mercedes taxi (gotta love that) hit 120MPH (I asked him to convert the KPH speedo for me) on the Autobahn. It was cool. Cheers! C. |

Yeah, visit Houston. Go fast day all of the time. Today on I-45 between Galveston and Houston I had the cruise set at 80 in a 70 zone (trying to stay out of trouble with the cruise) and was being passed like I was standing still by just about anything you can imagine, old beat up work trucks loaded down with ladders and stuff, tiny little subcompact cars, MB, Cadillac El Dorado Barritz land ship (much too big to be a yacht), etc.... It was everything I could do to keep from fantasizing about being on the autobahn and showing them all a thing or two.
As it was I still ended up hitting 100+ and 110+ a couple of times. I've just got no will power damnit ![]()

Ohh how I miss my days living in Frankfurt and Duesseldorf. I would regularly top out my company's leased SAAB 9000 at 245kph (roughly 146mph) on the A3 between DDF and FFM. And ohhh how I wish I'd had a Porsche back then. They, Ferraris and a few big assed BMWs & Audis were the only things PASSING me

Ummm, I used to have a girlfriend in Germany and we would borrow her mom's GTI Golf and dissapear for a week or two down south (visit the beaches in Spain). We used to cruise at about 7,000rpm in top gear but had to keep an eye on the rear veiw mirror for fast approching Porsches and BMW's. Once a Jag passed us like we were standing still - I didn't think Jags went that fast
![]() Good to hear the traffic is moving fast in SoCal (San Diego, great town!) and Tx. |
