901 gear chatter
my 5 speed 901 transmission makes a very annoying rattle in all gears but 1st, which had a new dogteeth and synchro about 2000 miles ago, because it was difficult to select when warm (it hasn't improved)
I guess the rattling could be a tolerance problem within 1st gear itself when another gear is selected and 1st is out of mesh. Any suggestions? Thanks Peter |

Mine used to rattle in neutral. It was the throwout bearing, I believe, but I had to have fourth gear replaced along with the second gear synchro and slider so it might have been those things that fixed it.

The throwout bearing is brand new and I have replaced all the bushings in the shift linkage + the shifter got new bushings, springs and stop plate.
This is driving me crazy and I am running out of ideas
