On my 86 911 targa the wireing diagram shows an inline fuse for the license plate lights. I have been unable to find the location of the fuse holder.

There are fuses in the front trunk and in the engine bay on the left under a black plastic cover.

Are your lights out and now power to the receptacle? What diagram are you using? I have an 83, no inline fuse.

The license plate light goes through fuse #2 in the front trunk, power from the headlight switch. Ground point G4 back by the tail lights.
