News Flash: SCWDP & "Big Oil" Team Up!

I, like many forum members, have considered the SCWDP a light-hearted attempt at humor by our longhood-envious forum brothers. It's all one big joke, right? I'm here to tell you: it's no joke. Today I pulled into a gas station, inserted my card in the Pay-at-the-Pump slot and patiently waited for approval on the LCD screen. What happened next can only be described as shocking. An image of a 911 appeared on the screen!!! Not just any 911, but an SC. The safety bumpers were clearly visible! This sent a chill down my spine that is difficult to express in words. I even looked up over the canopy to see if the black helicopters were circling. Of course, their tactics are subliminal so they have disguised the SC image, somewhat, with Martini Racing style stripes and the fuel filler in the wrong location.

Now luckily, I was filling up my truck, not the 911. I suspect there may be a detection device that spots early 911's and injects a gummy substance into the fuel that will plug up the jets on a Weber carb before you can reach the street. This whole operation - I'm certain - is controlled by Leland over in OPECland. He's obviously struck a deal with the other evil doers - BIG OIL - and has patched into their computer control system right from his tent. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Respectfully submitted, Curt.

I find the advanced electronics on that pump to be highly suspicious. I'll warrant that it's capable of sending a signal to blow DME relays and knock MFI pumps badly out of tune.

In fact, I have it on good authority that certain Enron executives were intricately involved in this plot, and are now seeking immunity before testifying...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that looks an awful lot like a 930 to me. Notice the fender guards and the tail... definately not an SC... although it could be a turbo look carrera

Is it just me or does the gas handle seem to be about 6 feet too far back? Maybe it's an E-Z fill oil-spout for a Carrera with valve guide wear...

Nice try to divert attention from the true subject matter at hand, Doug. Do you, or do you not, affirm that Leland is in control of the gas pumps in Michigan? -- Curt

They're continuing the 'pump the gas into the oil tank' tradition that started with the '72 911 external oil tank.

Hey, that's it! They're trying to get the 72-guys to fill their oil tanks with gas. Once the 72's are gone, they can move on to the 73's, than the 71's, then .....

No bubble to burst, Dan.
You see, a 930 is really an SC that has had a large dose of Vitamin T.

So does that mean that I am in the plot?

really? lets see... different motor, different trans/clutch, different suspension...

I guess if we apply this theory, then an SC is just a long hooded 911 with a shorter hood... and a Carrera is just an SC with much needed improvements? (hee hee)

930 owner Keith asks.....

".....So does that mean that I am in the plot?..."

I'd have to defer to Leland on this question, but if it was up to me, I'd say YES. There is no doubt 930's have a definite link to the proud SC lineage.

I think most SC owners would admit to a secret 930 lust if they were honest. 930's are cool (intercooled?).

Hopefully, Leland will see this post and pass judgement.
Personally, I'd like to welcome all 930 owners to join the SCWDP.

Playing with words are we Dan?

"....and a Carrera is just an SC with much needed improvements? ..."

And what would those "improvements" be, do tell?

Surely you don't mean those 3.2 rod bolts....the ones that are made of overcooked pasta!

Hey! Don't dis my rod bolts! I just turned 194K and those pasta bolts are hangin in there. Do I add water to my over cooked pasta or woud that be bad?
And Doug....wasn't it your SC that had to stay in the garage last weekend because it was raining? Guess you'll only dominate during the sunny days only.
