blowing oil 82 911 sc

I recently drove my 1982 911 SC Targa 250 miles to a car show without any problems. The next morning as we went to leave for home, I fired her up, let her warm up for about 10 min and headed down the road. Never made it past 3rd gear when I noticed heavy smoke from the rear. I pulled over and all my oil had blown out. Not sure where it was coming from, cleaned and checked all hoses, areas around the front, rear and head gaskets were clean and dry. Oil seem to be comming from the passenger side somewhere around the oil tank. Cleaned all the oil off and added 6 qts. Started her up with now problems, misses or noises. I let her run for about 10 min without any leaks or smoke. Headed down the road and got about 200 yards and blew all the oil out again.. Still couldn't see where it was comming from. Any help would be great.

Losing oil that fast should be easy to trace.

Stay in your driveway, refill, start engine, look underneath and see where it pours out.

Someone may have to rev it up for you to increase oil pressure.

May be the S hose or a blown oil cooler?

Cause? cause it failed. need a new one. Most likely one of the brazed joints failed due to harmonic vibration fatigue. my guess. Good catch. Pelican has these lines in stock.

James, If it was this oil line, wouldn't there be oil all over the engine compartment?

Glad you found it. I was thinking it was the oil cooler seals. Much easier fix this one.

Now also get the little rubber cushioned supports for the new cam oil lines. The vibration probably let loose the end-brazed connections.
