uncommon oil leaks 911 1982 3.0 SC
Hello,
I have spent quite some time replacing all the gaskets, seals, rubbers etc. as described in Wayne Dempsey's handbook. Unfortunately still leaks (even when the engine is not running). It seems to drip down somewhere from the cylinderheads (not the return tubes, I've replaced them and they're dry). Could it be the cylinderhead bolts that need to be tightened? Or a gasket to be replaced between engine and cylinderheads? Thanks Bas ![]() |

I think they call those base gaskets or base seals. In my case, retorque of head bolts/studs didn't help with a weeper and I am told that could even make it worse.

Could be leaking from the top. Oil pressure light switch, breather cover, breather hose.
I had a breather hose leaking all over the top of an engine once. Don't get the woven type get solid rubber. Last edited by gomezoneill; 09-19-2016 at 09:04 AM.. |

Actually, that is common.
