Sport Seats - what would you do?

Have a set of year correct reupholstered sport seats currently in my 83 SC. Just picked up a very nice pair that I believe are for years 74-81. The black goes with my interior a little better I think and I've always liked the slightly more agressive bolsters of the earlier years - debating on keeping both sets, or selling one. If I let a pair go any opinions on which set?

Best,
Mike

If both are equally comfortable and neither are original to your car, I would keep the black set and sell the reupholstered set.

Id keep the ones you have installed already. Then again I'm the type that prefers fabric over leather so i don't slide around.

Mid-year/early SC sport seats are harder to find, I gave up after a year or three.

Some say the later seats are more comfortable if you're, uh, "wider". Guess I must fit that description because mine are very comfortable and I don't move around in them at all.

I don't slide around at all...but then I have Carrera sport seats! Just kidding, but that interior, Mike, with the fabric seats, seems like too much color for me. I love leather, too, you know? ...whips and such, ....but I would go with the black..... $.02
Edit: In my lifetime, I have changed my mind on many, many things; black leather interior is one thing I have never strayed from.....all black all the better.

Are you sure the cloth ones are actually sport seats? Regardless, I like the black leather.

I get in kind of "sideways" just to keep the outer seatback bolster perfect. I try never to rub against it. I am not big, either, just want to protect the clean look of the side of the seat. 930S OEM wheel, too. All black is cool. Do you get much use out of your California Duster? Even on my Guards Red I use it a lot...

seats

I'd keep both sets until you've had a chance to try the new ones out for a while. You might find the difference between cloth and leather is not to your liking during the summer.

I fit 'snuggly' in mine and am often glad they have the courduroy inserts in them.
I haven't had a person yet that didn't like my seats once they sat in them.

The leather sport seats will add at least an extra $1k value to someones's car. The cloth ones may not wear as well.

My friends shop has an SC of unknown year that has some sport seats that are really snug on me. I swear whenever I move the car, I get bruises on my butt cheeks. It is just like when I rode around in my friends M3 with Momo race seats. On the other hand, the sport seats in my Weissach are easy for me to get in and out of.

I'd keep the ones that fit me the best. Why be uncomfortable?

Thanks for all the input! I'm going to install the new ones tomorrow and see how they feel - I suspect I will be putting the grey ones up for sale along with the grey floor mat set. BTW the 4 floor mats are rare NOS from the 80's, I still have the dealer tag that was attached to them. Will probably move to new Lloyds all black mats.

Best,
Mike

Thanks Mike.
I have to give credit to my brother as he insisted they be put in the car when we swapped cars, gee, three years ago (time flies when you're getting old[er])!

check out these:

i have a pair of them and they work pretty well, but i do have to slightly adjust them every now and then (i have regular power 993 seats). and yes, 930s wheels are the bee's knees and the cow's elbows.

Personally like the black ones (interested if you should decide to sell those and could pick them up)...But if it were my car...I would keep the correct ones installed.

The 74-81 versions are very nice seats, supportive and comfortable, and will look much better with your black interior.

Regards,
Al
