I searched for CIS airbox metal manifold but didn't come up with anything definitive.
One thread mentions that in 80, a metal manifold was added to mist the fuel direct to the intake runners.
I am replacing my cracked airbox on an 80 Weissach SC. The airbox I took out does not have the internal manifold. The newer airbox is the same mold but has the internal manifold and a bolt plugging the hole that on my old manifold was molded closed.
If I leave the internal manifold, what's the impact? Cold start only is what I am expecting to be slightly different. Or, should I remove it and setup as the old one is without an internal manifold?
