Internal Steering Rack Parts Source?

Anybody have a source for the internals of the steering rack?

I disassembled the rack from my 87 and would like to replace a few things. The disassembly is quite simple, just like Warren said. I'll post a few pictures and descriptions when I get everything ready to go back together.

What i'd like to replace is the pressure block- number 7 in the diagram. That is, if it's a reasonable cost. Problem with the block is it has been scored by the rack. There were (gone now) a couple burrs on the rack itself that did this job. It's scored pretty good. I could just rotate the block 90 deg. since it's circular and make contact with the small unscored area of the block, but it'd be nice to replace it and be done with the job. Would like to get some more shims too (number 5). Probably would be a good idea to replace the pressure spring too.

It's been my experience that most rebuild places don't want to give out parts, so I figured i'd ask around here.

Thanks.

Sorry I can't help. It bugs me that they won't supply you with parts. I have run into this same mentality when I wanted to buy some ign. distributor parts or a gear for the speedo. It's not rocket science.
