They look like a knock-off of a 911 spare steel wheel to me, and then cast in aluminum. That's what they look like to me.

Aftermarket 914 wheel, comes in 914 and VW offset. 165 max on the VW, 205 914. Not worth a whole bunch. Better than Rivieras....

seen those on 1,000,000 VW's and teeners. I bet a good polishing would make those wheels look pretty nice.

I like the rims and think they will look great on your car. Please measure and post diameter of the holes and we can all keep an eye out for caps.

From teh 912 Registry..."These wheels were made by (3) manufacturers – Hands, McAfee, and PS (Per Spec). To the best of my knowledge, all (3) are virtually identical (except the name). By the way, McAfee is Jack McAfee. They are 5 ½” wide by 15” diameter. The 1” offset to the outside really looks good on the car. These were very popular in 1966 and 1967 as dealer installed options (especially coming out of McAfee’s dealer). Chances are these wheels are PS since they made the overwhelming majority of the production run (they were the last ones to produce these). First was Hands, then McAfee, and then PS. They began production in the early sixties (and were popular on the VW powered and Porsche powered Devins. McAfee started selling them when Porsche went to disc brakes (1964) and sold them through about 1968. At that time, PS took over. I think the production ran to about the mid – 1970’s. It’s too bad they don’t have the knock off center cap with the Porsche Crest. If they did, they would most certainly be either Hands or McAfee production run. Based on the center cap, I’ll bet they are PS. Nonetheless, they are good wheels (but the knockoffs look real good)."

Mine were sold under the Shelby name. They were $59.99 each in 1979.
