Swivel joint socket

How much force can these take? Can I use one to take something off thats stuck....they don't seem like they'd be that strong and if it let go at the wrong time it could be painful!

Also, this weekend I am reassembling my intake after replacing the gaskets and fixing a couple of oil leaks. I need to use the swivel to get to some of the barrel nuts (at least I did to pull them off). Will this affect the torque setting on my wrench?

If it matters, I have the typical Craftsman 3/8, nothing fancy.

i've broken the best of tools working on boats

i'm no fan of craftsman swivels to begin with so to give me the best shot at tricky nuts i sometimes use snap-on. I even use snap-on 1/4" swivels for heat exchanger head nuts. The craftsman would eventually bust

i personally don't use factory torque #'s for most things. Maybe as a guideline but on older fastners dealing with intake gaskets experience is your friend. Factory spec is too low imo

and re-torque after a few hot/cold cycles imo

12 point may be better at crazy spaces than a 6 point
