Painting Brake Calipers

I am going to remove my brake calipers to paint them. I am also replacing my brake fluid. Is there any problem draining the system when they are removed them and refilling it several days later when I reinstall them? I am also replacing the fronts.

no but you'll have to bleed them of course.

Why not just leave it connected and just unbolted and masked.

Hate for you to introduce air into the system.

Just use Hi-temp paint.

No problem with filling it later.

Here's a tip. Use a stick to keep the brake pedal depressed 1/2 way down. That will keep the fluid from draining while you've got the calipers off. Yes, you'll still need to bleed the brakes once you've got everything buttoned up, but you won't have to deal with the hassle of fluid draining everywhere while things are apart.

Well I removed the fronts. The reason my fronts were sticking is the rubber dust shields were all chewed up. I left the backs on too much hassle to remove them. I ordered Centric remans to replace the fronts. I did not want to screw up the rebuild. I inspected the backs and cleaned them the dust shields on the back were fine. I did the trick about pushing the brake pedal in half way before I removed them. Want to get it done while the car is up on jacks. Wheels are out to be refinished.
