				Carrera coil alternatives?

Seems that the coil on my car swallowed itself this morning and wondering if there are any usable alternatives to the Bosch coil. I would like to get one now so I can move the car and worry about the correct one next week. Will an old bug coil work or something like that? (or something else cheap?) What choices are there?

No, but the same coil was used in the 944 so it should be redily available. Bruce | ||

AC Delco, Borg Warner and Echlin all have a crossover part. Check your local parts houses if you not hung up on the Bosch coil I just installed a PVL #101-400 (made in Germany) ignition coil. Napa part # ECH-IC74 in my 87 930 and it runs fine. I hope it lasts longer than the Bosch coil.
