Turn signal brake light and blown fuses

Need some electrical help. I had my car repainted and just put all of my lights back on to the car. Here is my problem I keep blowing the fuse to my turn signals and brake lights. I must have gone thru at least 5 fuses. Here is my situation: when I replace the fuse and put the key in the ignition and not start the car everything is fine turn signals work and brake lights work. I then start the car everything still works. I drive the car turn signal and brake lights don’t work and there is a blown fuse. I tried all different sized fuses and all have blown. I went to my tail lights and made sure that I had good contacts on my grounds. See photo of the blown fuse. There are three wires going to this fuse: green/red, green/yellow, and green blue. The car is a 75 911 and a transplanted 83 engine. Help ! What's wrong? Thanks

Just to add a bit of information. The left and right turn signals are blinking at a steady rate.

Did you make sure you connected the rear lights back to the proper connections. My car is a '74 and you can see the connections here.

If you check your electrical diagram you will see the light in the engine compartment is part of some of the turn signal circuit. Mine had a short and ended up being my turn signal problem.

If you have had many fuses burn out check the wires going into the ignition switch to make sure the problem hasn't over heated some of those wires and melted the insulation. Porsche has unprotected hot wires going to the ignition switch. Purchase the relay kit for the headlights from our host. You can't take to many precautions when it comes to Porsche's electrical system.

Never under estimate the problems a bad ground can cause.

Had a friend come by and help. I have now narrowed it down to the reverse lights. When I put it in reverse the fuse blows. I'll take off the tail light and make sure the wiring is ok. Is there an electrical schematic that shows the proper wiring ? 74er thanks for the photo is that the driver or passenger side light? Thanks

SoCal;

That just happened to me. Blew fuses when car was in reverse! Driving straight ahead, no problem. Found out the back cover on the housing (the one with two screws), was pinching one of the backup light wires! Rerouted and carefully put cover back on without pinching any wires. Weird s#$t man!!

SoCal,
It's the passenger side shown. I know my car is not in great shape (especially in the paint department) but the big scratch my wife put in the bumper I remember as seen in the picture. It seems alot of these blown turn signal fuses end up being caught somewhere in the rear of the car. Mine ended up being incorrect wiring to the lights in the rear which was my fault but when you buy the car in pieces...there's alot to figure out. Plus one on pinching wires when putting the cover back on. I also thought it would be good to verify that your cover is not actually making contact with your wire connection. The light electrical connection is angled towards the cover and this is really close for my comfort so I bent the tabs down a hair (but be very careful if you try this, you don't want to break anything).

When you reassemble the back plate housing, use some bathroom counter caulk to seal the housing, if not you will get moisture in it.

My reverse lights were causing my fuse to blow - it was enough of a current draw to blow the fuse when the car was running. I disconnected - and now more issues
