I have them for my 69 T. I pay them 300 or so a year and never hear from them again. No mileage or time restrictions. Would recommend them but never had to collect (thank the Porsche gods) so I don't know how they pay out.

I had Hagerty for my then '80SC. Paid $224 for the year and like Novadia, never heard from them again. Can't comment on the service.

Hagerty rules! I couldn't be happier with them. I've never had to file a claim, however. That's usually when you really find out who you're dealing with.

x2 on all these comments. $285/yr with a $35k accepted value including Hagerty roadside assistance. One thing I have noticed over the last 5 yrs insuring with them is their verbiage around coverage during "performance driving events" has gotten much more specific and more environments are not-covered. Definitely check out coverage details if you participate in Drivers Ed or other events that some policies do cover.

Mine is limited to weekend, no work, must have 2nd car and garage etc. I did file a claim when I slip off the road and damaged the front spoiler. They just sent a check after getting an estimate from a shop.

I have Hagerty, it's very cheap, allows me to specify a value. So if the car is totalled or burns or is stolen I will get the agreed value. They are very clear that you are NOT covered for anything that happens on the racetrack, but unlike some other companies they don't seem to care if you use the track.

I like them as well. I used to have Leiland West but switched. Hargerty cheaper less strict.
I've used them for a claim. I had a cat put a tear in my targa top and they paid for a rebuild by Dan Petchel with no problem. The process probably took about two weeks to get a check for about $ 1,000. Highly recommend.

I got a quote online yesterday. $350/yr agreed at 15K. $250 deductible. Compared to what I pay USAA, that was cheaper, but not a smokin' deal. Maybe CA is more expensive (I'm sure it is.)
I currently pay $475 and my policy would go down 200 if I took the 911 out. I would save 125/yr if I switched. Is it worth it? I don't know, I have full coverage and can do anything I want with the car including parking overnight anywhere. Further opinions?? |

Milt, I was covered by USAA for years, and still am for other cars. USAA told me that in the event of a total loss, reimbursement for the loss of my very nice 73 Targa would run about $3500. That's why I switched. Turned out it was cheaper too.

Dito on Hagerty, very easy do deal with, great price and can even do a zero deductable that changed my rates about $20.00 / year per car, have 4 cars with them. also easy to keep upgrading the coverage as the car improves on a restoration ect.

Hagerty is great, have agreed value on both P cars. Not had a claim yet, but did need roadside tow on each car and they had someone there within 20 min, very helpful staff, much cheaper and more appropriate to pcars than USAA which I have on other cars for 20 years. USAA does not get it. Very few restirctions with hagerty. Lynn

What is the best way to figure/agree on a value for your cars??
I am currently paying just under 600/yr with AAA, and would like to get a quote. If I can cut it in half, or close to it, why not! It would pay for an SW chip.

One of the nice things about Hagerty, which I use, is that your insuror is a nice young guy, serious car guy, named McKeel Hagerty. You aren't dealing with a faceless Swiss corporation or a minor wing of some Manhattan sleazebag company, you're dealing with McKeel (who I've actually met, I think it was at Amelia Island).

So you need a 2nd Primary Car for the Coverage, Correct?

2nd car
Roger on the second car...Hargerty doesn't insure the primary vehicle. It's a bit unclear as to the restrictions, just says the car can't be your primary go to work daily driver. Doesn't say you can't take it to work, just not every day. You must send proof of insurance on the primary when you send in your application to Hagerty.

I called Hagerty and wanted to insure two cars but you have to have one to drive and one to insure...I also think you have to have a new car to drive. I made the mistake of wanting to insure both. I don't use either car to drive to work and have not driven the Porsche for over a year while it is getting repairs.
I really need something that will give me stated value for both cars since they are '86 and '84 both in good condition. Has anyone used another insurer for stated value for a car driven on weekends? GEICO is ok but not stated value. |

What the heck is a "Mature Driver Course Discount?" "Certificate Required."
Do I need more than gray hair and a flawless driving record?
