Pass by flash fix?
I got a working low and high beam and the inner flasher points in the stalk connect when I pull the lever but I don't get the flash? Has anyone fixed this before?

i had that issue and when i installed the relay kit for the headlights i got the flash working. not sure if that will work for your case but it may be worth a try before taking the stalk out and cleaning contacts. if you already have the relay kit, nevermind.

Just do not over modify ^^^, or you will have to pull a bit hard and longer to activate the hi-beam.

Thanks guys.
Harry: I don't think there is an answer in that thread for the flasher problem. Ken: Yep, I need to install the relay first. It's on the to do list anyway. Draco: Hmmm... I did correct the too sensitive high beam last year (both lights were too easily on). But still, the inner flasher contacts connect very early on the stalk movement now. Relayed the high beam and no help.
Is the inner flasher contact in the stalk the same white wire to the fuse panel? My car might have screwed wiring at the fuse panel as the low beam yellow only routed to one light at the panel (white was divided to both sides). The other low beam had a grey wire from fuse (upside) to somewhere. |

For the archives:
Tried continuty test from the stalk and could net find where the red/white from the flasher goes at least on the fuse panel? Finally got myself under the dash and what do you know, the red/white wire from the stalk/flasher was off from the light switch terminal. Well, at least I got my lights relayed : ) while searching for the cause. I still don't know why the other low beam input is grey and I could not tell where it comes from? But all the lights work now with new H4 with relays I should have plenty of light. Last edited by smurfbus; 04-20-2011 at 12:15 PM.. |
