Where can I find 15" fuchs 8" front, 9" rear?
 

Looking for a set of custom fuchs in these sizes with the correct offset for a narrow body SC so I can fit the 225/45/15 and 275/35/15 Hoosiers for track use.

I think you said it all right there.
The factory never made 8 and 9's that will fit under your bodywork, so you'll have to get them custom made.
By someone like Harvey Weidmann, etc.
The likelyhood of buying these off ebay or any other place is simply NIL.

Whether you can fit them under a narrowbody is another question....
Anything can be made to fit, but how much work are you willing to do?

If you want to go custom you can get a set of 6x16 Fuchs centers cut and drilled for 20 bolt BBS shells, then use 15" flat BBS shells to make up the wheels.

If you want to go factory I've seen a handful of narrow cars running OEM 8&9x15 Fuchs wheels. The offsets are not exactly what you'd what but they can work with 225/275 Hoosiers.

I've got a set of 8&9x15 Fuchs I'll consider selling but they're far from cheap. Your best bet is to make up a set of custom Fuchs using BBS shells.

I had a set of 8's and 9's on my 75 Carrera in 1977 so they do fit.
Tire sizes may be another matter.
Seems like I used 225/60 CN 36 up front and 235/60 on the rear. Biggest thing available at the time.

If the "stock" 8 and 9's do in fact fit, here's the story for factory Fuchs.

The 15x8" are fairly common on eBay.
$600-1000/pr commonly.

The 15x9" are another story.
See those on eBay occasionally for $3-4k/pr.

So that's your dilema.
While fronts are reasonable cost, real 9" in the rear are very expensive and hard to come by.

A good wheel builder should be able to build you a set for the back for much less....

I think Baird make a 15 x 9 "Fuchs" in the correct offset for sc rear. Don't know about front 8" though

The standard 15x8 does not fit the front very well at all. I would say it doesn't fit, but people seem to run them anyway. I have a set... the offset is very wrong and as far as I have researched they all come with the same offset. I really would love to be corrected here, but so far I have not been. Ideally I want to run a 15x8 fuch front w/ 15x9 minilite rear... ;)

So... both front and rear would have to be customized if you wanted to run Fuchs (because 15x9 fuchs are hard to find and very expensive when you do... see above post).

Then there is the tire selection pain...

Do you recall the o/s? It must have been very tight at the lips, the ET3 9s stick out 12mm more than the later ET15 9x16
same w/ the ET10.6 8s, they stick out 12.7mm more than the usual 7ET23.3

Back in those days the available 9x15 had ET3 and had part # 911 361 020 06 & 911.331.012.05


there was a 2 9x15 part # 911.361.020.03 as early as 7/73, but I always thought they had ET3 too.

I agree 100% the standard 8x15 911 Fuchs has ET10.6 and sticks out to far when used in front unless you have turbo fenders

8" fronts need ET25-30 +/-

My 75 Carrera had the standard lowered suspension for the time and really no problem on 8" fronts.
No idea on the offsets for the 9" rears but they were just off the shelf new in 1977.
All I know is I sold them way too cheap.

well all the 8s in those days were ET10.6 and the only 9s I have ever seen or heard of were ET3

So you moved the rear 8x15s to the front and bought 9x15? Wish I had a chance to see it up close. That is a fitment i'd never believe would work on a Carrera body. Not to doubt you but I still don't.

The usual fitment in those days was 7 & 8 x15 w/ 205/50 & 225/50 tires, at least that's what my '76 C3 came w/. I did use the same 7 & 8 wheels on my '72 RS clone but w/ 215/60 & 235/55 tires, and the 215s were hard to fit that was my first experience shaving lips.

to anyone else out there, please post pics of 911 8ET10.6 on the front of a Carrera body if you have them and also any of you that have 911 8s w/ spacers on a Carrera body. 930s please do not post we know they will work for you.

Actually, 75 Carrera's came with 185/70 and 215/60 when new. Dunlops on mine but Pirrelli's on others.
I need to dig up old slides of the car with them.

stock on all Carrera's from '73 to '77 was 6 & 7 x15 w/ 185/70 & 215/60 usually Pirelli CN36

by '76(probably earlier but I don't have the complete documentation for '73 -'75) 7 & 8 x15 w/ 205/50 & 225/50 was an option, tires were Pirelli P7. For '77 C3 there was an additional option of 6 & 7 x16 w/ 205/55 & 225/50 tires

For US Carreras, 7&8's became standard in 1975. 6&7's were in fact standard on the 74 US Carreras
