79SC with idle issues

Hey all. I've got a '79SC with idle issues - Starts up first try but as soon as it's warmed up, idle and oil pressure drop to almost nothing and the engine just chugs....any ideas?

Sounds like a possible vacuum leak resulting in an overly lean condition. The fact the oil pressure drops is probably due to the extremely low idle--does it rise when you raise the rpms?
Nearly every rubber hose you see in the engine compartment could leak air and cause your problem. Now is the time to check for leaks. Do a search for "air leaks" and you'll find lots of threads on ways to hunt them down.

Swing by Montgomery county......

Kamps,

Is the car driveable? Swing by and I'll take a look. I go to Buck County (Chalfont) twice a week to take my grand daughter to a Kumon learning Center in the afternoon. Morning is not good because I'm in the golf course most mornings, so afternoon and evening would be ideal. PM me and see what we could do.

Tony
