Euro 3.0 cam timing ranges

Lost my notes and can't remember the cam timing ranges for a 1980 euro 3.0 motor?

Thanks,
Richard

'76 & 77 C3 used the most retarded timing spec for intake opening initiation @ 1* BTDC, retarding the cam timing theoretically helps top end hp

Some of the SC's used as much as 7* BTDC, advancing the cam timing theoretically helps bottom end torque

'84-89 Carrera 3.2 split the difference @ 4* BTDC

For the '78 - 81 SC's it depended on the year and engine installed
930/04,05,15, 06, 10 were @ 1* BTDC

930/03, 13, 07, 08, 09, 19, 16, 17 were @ 7* BTDC

Thanks Bill for taking the time to respond and useful info!...sorry if I was not clearer with my question. I am re-installing my cams and wanted to advance them a little. I can't remember the mins / max on the ranges. I think the stock SC motor is 0.9 - 1.1 mm?

That sounds about right, however if you can verify tomorrow I would appreciate it!! I think you actually gave me these specs about 1.5 years ago, however my dog ate my notes...

Thanks,
Richard

If you want all the power in the high end as the euro s do use .9 if you want street power off the light use the 1.7.

I am running weber's so I am curious to see how this all comes into play...especially after the distributor re-curving is done.

Thanks,
Richard
