do i have to drop the engine to fix this?
![]() i have an unacceptable oil leak at the junction where the carrera oil-pumped chain tensioning oil line joins with the driver side cam tower pressure line (it's just above my manly knuckle in the above picture). do i have to at least partially drop the engine in order to replace both lines? i'm not sure if i can get the surrounding engine tin off with the engine in place. there is also the 2" or so metal heater pipe that runs right in front of the hollow bolt. if i do have to drop the engine, do i have to take it all the way out or will a partial drop suffice? I don't want to loosen the CV joint cap screws unless i absolutely have to. thanks |

Nope, not necessary.
just have to remove the plastic heater tube to gain access to the 13MM banjo bolt near at the engine tin.

Draco is right. I replaced my lines not long ago, no engine drop needed.
