M&K muffler causing rattle against body

I am having an issue with my M&K muffler (1-in, 1-out) hitting the body of the car (86 carrera) and causing a rear end rattle. I have attached a photo for you to see and highlighted the area of concern. At rest there is a hair line gap between the muffler and the metal on the body (where the rear tow hook is). IMO the issue is the circumference of the muffler body is too large, or i am unable to adjust the muffler to further to the right of the body. Has anyone else had this issue ? Any recommendations to solve ?

Mark it and adjust the muffler with a BFH. (Big hammer) Otherwise youll have to pull the exhaust, check all the gaskets etc.

How old is that muffler?
Our MKM33 single inlet mufflers are adjustable at the inlet. I don't see a clamp near the inlet flange. There is also adjustability at the catalytic converter (or pre-muffler) inlet if you loosen those 6 bolts.

I’m not sure exactly how old it is. I bought it second hand off another pelican about 8ish years ago. I’m running it with a m&k test pipe.
The only bolts I see are the 3 flange bolts.

I had the car put on a lift today to more clearly see whats going on. The shop seems to think the Muffler I have is more for a 3.0L. Since this muffler is sitting too high (its also making contact with the rear valence) due to the way the crosspipe for heat is at the rear of the motor.

Questions -
1. I notice on the M&K website for the MKM33 it says when ordering to state whether SC or Carerra. Are they different builds ?
2. Should I just say forget this, and get SSI for my 3.2 with a 2-in 1-out muffler and forgo the cat bypass+muffler option ?
