Hi all,
I'm continuing to sort through some mysteries of my '85 Targa, since acquiring it last fall. Today's mystery: blanks in the Fuchs part number and spec stamps. In 1989, the (one and only) PO traded in the original 6x16 and 7x16 Fuchs that came on the car, upgrading to a set of 7x16 and 8x16. See the invoice, and you'll see that the new wheels had 951 part numbers, and 23.3 offsets all around. ![]() I took the wheels off to inspect the stamped info on the backside. The rears showed exactly what I expected, as shown below: size: 8Jx16 ET23.3Anybody know what the sideways "P" after the part # indicates? ![]() ![]() The fronts are a bit of a mystery. Some measuring proves that they're a 23.3 offset, but what's with the blank spaces in the part #, and where the offset should be stamped? size: 7Jx16 ET[blank]And here again, any ideas on the "P", etched somewhat sloppily into these? ![]() ![]() Cheers,
