After a large amount of research, I've found only two people who use their transmission crossmember as a rear jack point. Since my case is magnesium, I'm not jacking it up by that. I also have no access to the factory jack points, as my car is a Strosek conversion. Jacking rear of car-method (Look near bottom of page 2) Anybody have a reason not to use this as a jack point? Thanks very much for the input! I apologize for bringing up a topic that has been discussed at length.

Why not give it a try and report. Makes total sense as long as a block of wood is used to distribute the weight along the crossmember and importantly to the chassis
I raise from the engine with a pad, freakin POs did not use a pad so she is scuffed up on the engine halves ![]() Heck, maybe it will not premature weaken the engine mounts with the raise from trans mount method?

I just used the crossmember to jack the car up. It worked very well. Two pieces of 2X4 to spread the weight out, and (obviously) jack stands as a safety while I was changing the brake fluid. Worked out very well, and I will no longer wonder where to lift the rear of the car by.
