3.2 Carrera - Left side Fuel Rail removal?

Hello All,

I am replacing my injectors, and have successfully r&r'd the right 3, but have not been able to get the left side fuel rail off..... not that I tried too hard, I stopped for supper before I tried too many things.

I am thinking I can simply loosen (but not remove) a single fuel line connection to the rail, and pivot the whole deal up, just enough to get the rear injector out?

Thanks!!

I had to loosen the rear nuts, a biotch to remove but doable.

Just take care when replacing the o-rings, if pinch they will leak. ask me how I know.

I have not done this but can tell you that often times when I try to save time it costs more in the end... lifting things out of the way that could be removed sounds like that type of thinking

I just replaced my injectors a few days ago. I had to disconnect both fuel lines on each rail. The injectors really didn't want to come out of the manifolds. I put a bit of silicone grease on the new injector o-rings and installation went a lot easier than removal.

I really had to pull hard on my injectors to come out of the rail, but the manifolds were slightly easier. Probably by design the top O-rings have to hold fuel pressure, the bottom ones engine vacuum only.

So to clarify what you had to remove, on the left, forward end, just the one fuel fitting? No other bolts hidden where I can't see?

Thanks for the reply!!

Thanks to all,

Done. Piece of cake. Hardest part was finding a 19mm wrench short enough to swing around back in there.

Car idles much more smoothly with new injectors - runs about the same otherwise.
