Question Dr. Colorchip any good?

Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Colorchip products?

As my paint is original and in fairly good shape I do not want to damage it but I would surely like to try to eleiminate some of the road rash on the front of my car. They do show the OEM color in their line-up of options.

Any other suggestions to this issue?

I've used it. I found it not bad, certainly makes the car look better from 10 feet.

I think the results must vary quite a bit by the color of the car, though. I'm sure on a white car, it would be very good. I used it on a dark blue metallic, which seems more difficult.

I used it on the headlight surrounds on my GP White 930. The system worked okay... I think with practice I could make it better, but the paint color was way off. Much too gray.

The actual process works pretty good. My color was off a little bit so I just sent (today actually) them my torsion bar cover so they could match it. We'll see how the color comes back.

Worked great for me. My car was repainted to Maritime Blue two owners ago and the paint matched beautifully.

Eric, are you aware that there are multiple variants of GP White? When my '77 930 needed a small repair the body/paint shop that I always used discovered that some GP White uses a drop of black (which gives the color a "gray" undertone), while my car's GP White required a drop of red (which makes the color brighter). Of course, that over-simplifies the issue, and this problem was dealt with many years ago so my memory might be a little fuzzy. You might want to investigate further!

I just sent off a piece of my car (the torsion bar cover) to color match. I'm sure if you send them your odd or unlisted color they'd be happy to do the same.
