Clutch Arm Helper Spring

I have a 1986 911 and the clutch arm helper spring broke yesterday on the drive home. The clutch just feels stiffer however I am still able to shift. Will I harm anything by driving the car while i wait for the new part to arrive and be installed??

Thanks Ed. I thought this was the case but needed some words of wisdom from someone wiser than myself!
