Carerra Antenna does not fully recede

Folks,

When I turn on the stereo the antenna goes to full mast. When I turn it off it does not fully recede. About 8 inches is left. Any ideas why?

Mine is also sticky going up and down. I clean and oil it with 3n1 oil on a rag, its good for a month or so.

Lubrication is often an issue and like tevake said give it a good clean and oil. Another possibility is worn teeth on the motor or plastic antenna tail

Mine had the same problem some time ago, I gave it a good clean with some soapy water, then lubricated it with Singer sewing machine oil, never stuck again.
