STOLEN truck, trailer and race car!

This is a copy paste from the Used Parts Forum ... I figured it might help to get the added exposure ... if you know a better way to get coverage on two forums your help would be appreciated ...

Willie

STOLEN between midnight and 5:30 am on Saturday, 5/14/11, in SE Denver, CO, a GOLD 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty Extended Cab (4-dr.) diesel with CO license tag 193 NER (bare, no topper shell or tailgate) attached to a WHITE 2006 Interstate Loadrunner 24' enclosed trailer with CO tag 971 NXL. Inside is my red 1993 911 (C2 RS clone, 3.8l wing). Also in trailer were lots of tools including new Hitachi lighweight impact wrench, Traqmate, Sony HD camcorder (all gifts from my wife, Sunny), extra set of 18" OZ Allegeritas with Kumhos. On the car, a set of 18" 996 Cup magnesium BBS with Hoosiers (225/285). Much more....

I can't seem to upload pictures so I changed my avatar to show the truck and trailer. In a post on Rennlist several below my initial post, Craig ("88 Club Sport") has uploaded a shot of the lost car (many thanks, Craig!) Also, the avatar picture of the truck and trailer is larger there, too. (Sorry, I'm so disorganized right now.)

Here are the VINs:

Ford F-350 VIN: 1FTSW31P24EA17606

Interstate Loadrunner VIN: 4RACS24296C007497

Porsche 964 VIN: WP0AB2960PS420499

If anyone hears/sees anything listed for sale anywhere (or sees it on the road - by now, who knows how far from Denver), please contact police and/or me anytime!

Thanks,

Scott Henderson

If the theft took place anywhere near a reservation you may also want to read this

STOLEN: Dmax/trailer/COPO Camaro - The Supercar Registry Bulletin Board

Here is a post from that thread made by the owner after he got his car back

"Hey guys. Thanks for all the support and to all the folks that posted on so many sites about this horrible news. What a roller coaster ride emotionally and physically.
Once I realized the complete rig was taken, I know time was very very precious. The odds of recovery looked very bleak and non existant.
Dealing with the cops was very frustrating and time consumming. A good friend suggested a reward right away to get there attention, cause usually the cars are parted out in the first 24 hours.
I knew in my heart that they were after the truck and the truck only, but the trailer was a bonus and I'm sure they could hardly wait to see what was behind door #1!
My friend went out on the reserve at noon the next day and put out a big reward on the condition that the car came back in the same shape they recieved it. Any damage would result in less money. It took 3 hours for the call(s) to come in.
Saturday things were lined up for a Sunday morning deal.
Sunday got up a 6am and drove the 2 hours back. We got a hotel room 20 minutes away from where it was going to happen. The next 48 hours you could have made a movie. Came home Sunday night with no car and negotiations started all over again on Monday. Finally @ 6pm the exchange was made off the rez in a church parking lot. Can't give any more details than that right now, but I still can't believe the car is in my shop as it was literally hours away from being parted out. Indians told me the car was "scary fast" and that it was the fastest car they ever drove.
You gotta do what you gotta do. There is going to be some changes around here!
Thanks again for all your support.
Peter"

Of course this is not an indictment of people on the reservation . Every town and every culture in the world has bad bad people mixed in with the good. Some are taking advantage of the res being a sovereign nation and stealing cars outside the res.

Engine Serial # from VIN

Anyone know how to get the engine and transmission serial numbers based on the car's VIN?

Short of PCNA or Cardex?

Also, what other parts nowadays have a serial number or other unique identification on them on Porsches?

On a 964, just about every body panel would have a VIN sticker on it.
Engine and trans have the VIN stickers in addition to the stamped numbers.

Moderate news on another site/thread:

Denver Police found his trailer, it had been stripped, but he has it back.

Denver Police think they saw his car, gave chase but lost it... over 100 mph on Hoosiers in the rain...

Edit: Oops, Hoosiers...

I seen a rig that looked like that last night in Oklahoma. I think the trailer was shorter though.

Yeah, most crooks are stealing the trailers and stripping them to make a few hundered in scrap. They really dont want the car.

I don't think it was Kuhmos in the rain.

I think it was Hoosiers (slicks) in the rain!

i have Kuhmos on my car, and if it rained, I wouldn't be too scared......

Then again, I don't drive in the rain.

Dangerous, high-performance racecar stolen | 9news.com

Video shows the car and an interview with Scott. Must be a real knucklehead to drive it on I70 and then run from the police.

Well since it's got that sort of publicity that puts it out and it's HOT, hopefully someone will be able to speak up and find it soon!

So sorry to hear about this man It is one thing I've always worried about, someone stealing one of my babies.

(I'm going to share this on a couple forums, spread the word)
