Just a Thank you..
Thank you to all who contribute to this forum's technical articles and the endless priceless advice i've received through the years.
Today i finished installing new front rotors and pads and flushed the whole brake system. I did the rears last weekend. My brake system is now good to go. Following the advice and the articles provided by you have saved me lots in labor cost and have learned valuable skills in keeping my SC in top running condition. My next project for next Saturday will be to change my front shock inserts. I'm going to try replacing the inserts without having to remove the whole shock housing. It seems to be a pretty straight forward process and what I like about it is that alignment will not be necessary. Anyway, thank you again. Carl

I second that Carl. There's a lot of knowledge on this forum and along with that a lot of patient people who are willing to share it! If not for this group I would have been afraid to start some of my diy projects i've taken on so far.

Carl is spot on. I haven't worked on my own car since the early 90s. Because of all the helpful people on this forum, within the first 2 months of ownership I swapped my sugar scoops for H4s, replaced the voltage regulator, replaced my turn signal stalk, and have tinkered with things I never would have. Thanks Pelicans! And you can't forget a special thank you to Wayne for this awesome forum, great technical articles, and a great parts catalog!

Agreed, You beat me to this post. I have done numerous DIY jobs with the help of this site that would have been almost impossible without it.
My last one was I noticed my seat belt light coming on intermittently. Upon research, I found many people with this issue blame the voltage regulator sending too many volts to the battery. This may cause the batter to boil or even explode! Upon investigation, I had a slight amount of battery acid and slight corrosion on some of the bolts inside the trunk. My regulator was sending 16-17 Volts. Did the repair immediately. Problem solved! THANKS PELICAN!

Since the inception of this board I often wonder how much revenue has gone up at Porsche AG due to parts sales for older models...

on a related note: I wonder how Porsche AG feels regarding the support of older model parts, e.g. do they make money?

Very doable, just be very careful with gas inserts as you can ding your fenders. Tim

I echo your sentiments - I really appreciate this 'place'. working on the car is fun, I save some bucks, and it's rewarding. The info is invaluable and adds meat to the bones in the bentley.
