Cruise control computer 1986

Where is the cruise control computer mounted in a 1986 Carrera?

Thanks,
Bernie

If its same as my 87, then its by your passengers left knee, right under the dash.

In the trunk behind the cardboard shield mounted on a black cross bar about 8" long next to the Brake MC.

Interesting -- on my '86 targa (a late model with fused footwell blowers), the cruise control brain's where Bernie indicated his is located (basically a shiny rectangular box under the radio) -- wonder if this was another midyear development?

Hmmm, maybe I am wrong here. I will need to check my buddy's '86. I swear I saw it there when I working on his car.

No matter look for those two spots, it should be there. Like Darrin said shiny rectangular box in Mat Aluminum finish.

It was moved to the passenger compartment directly under the radio around May/June of 1986. My June 86 build has it there, and the footwell blowers are fused as well. That also happened around the same time.

So, most 86's have it in the trunk, but late-86's have it under the radio.

Hmmm, mine was built in February 86 and the cruise module is under the radio.

Interesting. I guess we need to do a comprehensive survey.
