Rebuilt alternator not charging
I'm wondering if there is anything I'm missing or that I should check? I had my Valeo rebuilt (brushes, diodes, bearing, regulator) but I'm only getting 12v at the battery with the car running. I have searched here for wiring and it is connected properly (red to +, 3 small browns and one big brown to -, blue to D). I tried a different battery. When I first turn on the car the battery light comes on but if I rev up then let it go back to idle, it turns off.
Any suggestions on anything else I can check? Thanks.

Look where the big brown (negative) wire connects at the other end and check for rust or corrosion. That would be my first step.

I did connect the volt meter directly to the alternator + and grounded to the engine if that makes any difference. I will check the ground cables when I get home.
Do auto part stores test alternators on the car, or can I remove it and they have the capability to test them removed? Or I can take it back to the place that rebuilt it, but they are a bit distance away....
