Car started to smoke very badly yesterday.
Yesterday During my 85 911 3.2's annual inspection - part of the inspection involves jacking up the rear end to check suspension.
Car was running during this - revs were heard to fall slightly then both pipes started kicking unreal amounts of smoke - I switched the thing off after this - it was pretty hot. The 5 mile drive home - car went okay but for most of the journey - I couldn't see what was behind me. It's now cleared up and exhaust is clean again but at the time - I thought I had holed a piston or similar - question being - where and how did this oil get into the exhaust. Cheers |

Sounds like you sucked oil from the tank into the intake.
Hire out as a mosquito killer..... Not an uncommon issue when you leave a steep drive way and you have over the 1/2 mark on your dipstick. Drive it.....burn it.....

drain some oil off, drive another 30 miles and clear out its throat.

I gave the thing a service when I got home - but left the oil half way up the stick instead of the usual 7/8's - really cannot believe the smoke it kicked out!
All appears well now so I suppose it's time to enjoy the thing over the summer. Cheers |

Mine did that once.
I had the rear jacked up doing spring plate bushings. Had to leave on a week long trip before i finished. After i got back and finished up i fired it up and it filled the garage with white smoke. Never done it since.
