VarioRam Breather Question

For folks with the 3.6 VR swap, how is your engine breather line arranged?

There are two big ports on the back of the intake. One of mine is plugged, the other runs to the oil tank breather port. When I crack the oil fill cap, there is no change in idle or sound. When I had the 3.2 in the car, there was a change in idle when the oil fill cap was opened.

Does this all seem normal for this swap? Car is an '87.

Thanks guys

Not sure what you are asking, but here's mine

I have a '95 3.6 (non-V-ram) and had a 3.2 prior. My 3.2 idle dropped when I removed thew oil tank cap, with the 3.6 it does not change at all. Hope others will chime in as I have wondered the same thing.

Bill thanks for trying. My original post was crappy.

I'm attempting to track down a weak vacuum signal at 14.8in-hg at cold idle. This should be a bit higher on a fresh motor. I'm convinced I have a vacuum leak and am using the oil-cap removal as part of the diagnosis, though not sure if this is accurate. I'm curious if others (along with Cairo) have noticed if their 3.6 still drops in idle when the cap is removed. Maybe the 3.6 is a closed vacuum system and does not rely on the oil tank as part of the vacuum system. Maybe the 3.6 will not react the same as the 3.2 in this regards.

It looks like there are 3 big ports on the back of the intake. I thought I understood how mine was attached, but will need to go back tonight and take another look.

When I first put a 3.6 in mine the idle went up when the coil cap was removed. Put a 3.2 restrictor(930.107.289.00) in the breather and all was well

Bill that is perfect. I remember finding it in my 3.2 and wondering what the heck it was for. Things seem to come back around eventually... I'll order one now.

Correct! No idle drop because the 3.6 uses a wide open MAF tube. No pressure drop across that MAF tube. But the stock AFM in the 3.2 has a small pressure drop across it at idle because the barn door acts like a throttle blade.
