My 3.0 SC -80 is showing 96.312 miles on the meter and the engine is in perfect shape.
What is the average milage before rebuild on an SC? What is your high milage mark? Bruce Anderson mentions an SC:s in "Porsche 911 Performance Handbook" that has 455.000 miles on the meter... Regards, Daniel

Greetings!
I used to worry myself with this question when I first bought my 81 SC with 86k miles but now 7 months and almost 4k miles later I have learned to not even think about. Except for routine maintenance I just drive and enjoy it and will worry about the rest later. FWIW, I am hoping to get at least 175k miles before I even have to consider anytype of rebuild.

I'm at 201,100 miles with no engine work, no smoke and still powerful. While replacing a throwout bearing and rebuilding the transmission, the engine was pulled and measurements taken at 101,000 miles. Tolerances were still to spec and internals looked brand new.
