SCWDP Rainforest Region Round-Up UPDATE

OK guys....this event is going to go!
The tentative date(s) are the weekend of July 13 OR 20.
These dates have been chosen to avoid the US 4th and JW's legendary Swapmeet.

I know this will not satisfy everyone, but I need a consensus from those of you who will attend.....which date do you like the best? RSVP ASAP!

We have a baby due at the end of July so the earlier date is better for me. However, our first one came three weeks early so either date is going to be hit or miss.

BTW Doug, I just did my first solo valve adjustment after you helped me last summer, it went pretty smoothly. Definetly something you get better at with practice. JW's tool helped as well.

Bump it one more time for the evening shift.

I don't think you can accommodate every single person when it comes to dates/times, so I'm going to start planning with the 20th of July in mind.

This weekend I'll be talking to the Manager of the Howe Sound Inn (tentatively, the official venue) regarding accomodations and use of the dining room and bar. We'll see what happens from there.

I'm working on a special t-shirt for the event, as well as merchandise prizes for the participants. Stay tuned, meanwhile
any further comments and suggestions are appreciated.

I'm hoping to join in on the fun...my 69 S is in the build state.....just skinning it down to bare metal to do a proper paint job. Mechanicals seem OK...but I need a shakdown run before I go out and embarrass myself or the rest of you!

President Lee and all SCWDP'ers.....

Lee, I certainly hope we don't have a "Nuclear Winter", but a great time *is* guaranteed driving your Porsche through the gorgeous hinterlands of British Columbia....with a bunch of like-minded enthusiasts.
(Lee, please get home soon and safe!)

I'm working pretty hard on the event even though it is still 4 months away. This weekend, I'll be meeting with the Manager of the Howe Sound Inn (in Squamish, B.C.) I'll be inquiring about some special accommodation rates for our event.

I'm also working on a commemorative t-shirt just for the participants of the Round-Up. Merchandise prizes too!

And finally, once the snow leaves the B.C. mountains, I'm going to drive the proposed route at least a couple of times. I will then print a route booklet so no one gets lost. This will also ensure that all drivers can enjoy the trip at their own pace.

More details next week,so......
Keep the SCWDP faith!

I'll be there, any date.

Doug Z, please reserve some SCWDP stickers for me. If you don't mind too much, I can drop by your house and pick them up since I live only 20 min. away. Sounds like you're a busy guy, so at your convenience (email alevshk@telus.net)
Besides, I'd like to have a listen to that GHL!

Well, island911, I *knew* this would happen.
Ya can't please everybody all the time. But seeing as how we go back together such a long, long time, how can I refuse?
The most important thing for me was not to have a conflict with JW's swapmeet. After talking to Mr. Walker, I think that is avoided by any July date. (BTW, I'm hoping to have John attend as an honored guest).

Actually, the date of the 20th (or the 13th for that matter) is still tentative. Much has to do with the venue and if they can accommodate our party of SCWDP'ers and friends. I'm still working on that. More info coming soon, so....
Keep the SCWDP faith!
