Front A Arm spacer location
 

Where does the spacer for the front bolt of the front A Arm bracket go? Does it go between the bracket and the body pan or between the bracket and the front crash bar? Does anything go between the crash bar and the bracket to fill up that space? The Bentley does not provide a positive location in the exploded parts diagram.

What spacer? They are integral to the mounts on a 930.

Sorry I should have said I have a '87 Carrera. That front A Arm bracket bolt that also holds up the front crash bar has a spacer. I forgot if the spacer goes between the crash bar and the bracket or between the bracket and the belly pan. The manuals and parts diagrams don't really help.

The '89 PET shows on fig 813-45 that it goes between the stone guard and the protection bar.
But this figure doesn't show the bracket that covers the end of the A arm.
I just did mine and forget.
I do recall that someone asked this question here a while back.
It's that large thick washer for the fwd long bolt of 3, right?

Yes, that long bolt has a lock washer, a large flat washer, and then a thick (~1/2") spacer. I was putting the spacer between the belly pan and the bracket and then the flat and lock washer between the crash bar and the nut head. when I started torqueing down that bolt the flat washer began to seriously deform as the crash bar was drawn down into the recess of that front bracket. I also noticed a previous indentation line on the belly pan that appeared to match the front bracket which would mean I had put the spacer was on the wrong side of the bracket. so I am confused.

yes even i was confused from the start of the thread untill i saw the pic..

There are two spacers one between the crash bar and the cover \ tow hook and then another one between the cover tow hook and the body of the car (on the later '80s cars).
