I was also surprised at the number of missed shots particularly the last shooter and also surprised at the number of hits that bounced off shocking.

I actually talked to the owner and someone else involved about buying the car. In short, the engine was blown and it also took out major portions of the cooling system. He looked into the repair costs, the value of the car as is and considered what the ownership experience had been. In addition, a tiptronic 996 with > 100k miles isn't that desirable even with a good engine. In the end, he decided he'd rather donate it to a cause he really believes in.

I don't know what people here believe with regards to firearm ownership, but suffice it to say that the laws in MA are substantially different (worse) than most states and most likely in violation of SCOTUS decisions on the matter. The organization that the 996 was donated to is dedicated to changing this situation and is working with Alan Gura to make that happen. The owner of the 996 realized that the opportunity to put holes in such a vehicle would raise a lot of money for the cause.

As for the missed shots, if you've never rapid fired a hand held rifle at 100 yards, or shot a full auto, don't judge.

I was in the Navy and shot expert (imagine that) so I can. I was a pretty good shot at 500 yards back then too.:D

I honestly never even made the connection because if you'll notice the spelling (or derivation thereof with the "1's" for "L's") it is a reference to Lt. Frank Bullitt as played by a little know actor named McQueen so I always think of the name that way.

However, in reference to this thread it quite serendipitously fits.

Fair enough (and thanks for your service).

I occasionally do NRA high power matches and many of the guys that were there are very good shots. Some are complete newbs though, obviously.
