I am pretty familiar with the car. Followed the thread and saw the car last year when I was in California. TRE did an excellent job.

Very nice SWB...
and the Aston Martin is not bad either - it kind of reminds me of my all time favorite car, a Ferrari 250 GT SWB....

Looks like a 246 Dino through the 917 frame . . .

Nope
its one of these rare birds: A De Tomaso Vallelunga . Crossflow 1600 cc Kent motor was "standard" with a small hewland -- Basically a two seater Formula ford with a two seat sexy italian dress :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1308960569.jpg |
:)

A Lotus Twin Cam engine was a lovely upgrade in the day :)

I remember reading a road test many years ago and was smitten. Only article I have ever seen on it. The Vallelunga must the least written about Italian performance car of that era.

We are working on the original harness. As you can imagine, it has not been out of the chassis since 1968 (43 years ago!) . We've cleaned it, re wrapped it with electrical tape, checking out the fuse board (you need to do this on the front and back since the contacts and bridges will loosen or corrode away)
not very sexy pics today, but all part of the process http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309377800.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309377812.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309377826.jpg |
any magic elixirs you like for the electrical contacts?
