To err is human, but to R is divine

We present here a study in converting a 1968 911 L to a R inspired chariot for a discerning enthusiast of a lady

Follow with us as we start the assembly of the beautifully prepared and painted shell work provided by our friends at Kundensport. This will not be a rorty noisy aggressive corner carver, but a very capable fun car that will be at ease on long journeys , discovering terrific rally roads.

Our goal is to have it ready for its shake down run to Rennsport Reunion at Laguna in October

The fun begins......

The 'canvas' is a beautiful starting point. Will be fun following the progress.
Good luck!

I was thinking the same thing. My guess is the grey car with the spoiler is a Lotus. I am more curious about the grey car by the soon to be "R's" passenger door. My hunch as to that car is either pedigree Aston Martin or Ferrari.

You guys can have the Lotus Esprit and the Aston Martin DB-5,

I will take the 917 space frame in the background.

That's my car!!!
Many thanks to Kundensport for the great job they did.
Looking forward to having Dave work his magic so that I can show it off at Rennsport.
This car might not be as noisy as some but as I remember it the MK exhaust is pretty damn loud. I could hear it very clearly over all the car alarms we set off in LA.

It's going to be pretty light, fiberglass/balsa wood hood, fiberglass deck lid and rear bumper. The front bumper is steel, but lightened. The interior will have lots of R details but still be comfortable on long runs.
Check out the double sets of lugs, for a pair of Repa harness's

That Aston is a DB4, not a DB5. The DB4 is much prettier than the DB5 in my opinion. James Bond drove a DB5. Charlie Croker drove a DB4.

Great, thanks I'll take both of them. When can I pick them up?

Good eye Flieger, I didn't even notice that.
